God only gives His Spirit to those
who keep His commandments
Last Supper Passover
The one who belongs listens and responds to Yehovah's words. If you don't listen and respond,
it is because you don't belong to Yehovah." John 8:47
Language

These passages expose the absolute legal connection between our daily obedience to the Creator's instructions (Torah) and His willingness to hear or act upon our prayers.
1 John 2:3–4
"And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."
Hebrews 10:26–27
"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins..
When someone expects the benefits of the Covenant while actively ignoring the house rules, these are the verses that strip away their false security:
1. The Verdict of Blocked Prayers
The Word is explicit: ongoing, unrepentant lawlessness acts like a lead ceiling, completely cutting off communication with the Throne.
Proverbs 28:9
"He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
-
Isaiah 59:1–2
"Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear."
-
The Confrontation: "You blame God for being silent, or you think He is too distant to care. The text says His ears work perfectly fine—it is your choice to live in open violation of His boundaries that has built a solid wall between you and the King."
-
-
Micah 3:4
"Then they will cry to the Lord, but He will not hear them; He will even hide His face from them at that time, because they have been evil in their deeds."
-
The Confrontation: "You cannot run your life by your own carnal rules, cheat your neighbor, throw out the Sabbath, and then expect the King to act like your personal rescue service when a crisis hits. He says He will actively hide His face because your daily deeds are in open rebellion."
-
-
Psalm 66:18
"If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear."
-
The Confrontation: "To 'regard' means to harbor, cherish, or entertain. If you are keeping a mental scorecard of grudges, tolerating compromise, or making excuses for your pet sins, your prayers do not even leave the room."
-
-
2. The Link Between Obedience and Answered Prayers
In contrast, the New Testament confirms that the key to bold, effective prayer is a lifestyle that actively guards and executes the commandments.
-
1 John 3:22
"And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight."
-
The Confrontation: "Modern religion tells you that keeping the commandments is 'legalism' and has nothing to do with your relationship with God. But the Apostle John sets a clear, conditional legal clause: we receive what we ask because we walk in active obedience to His law."
-
-
John 9:31
"Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him."
-
The Confrontation: "The blind man healed by Yeshua understood a basic, fundamental truth of the Hebrew faith: the Creator's ears are tuned to the frequency of compliance. If you refuse to do His will, your 'worship' is nothing but empty noise to Him."
-
-
3. The Rejection of Empty Religious Rituals
The Father utterly despises religious theater—church attendance, loud worship songs, fasts, and long prayers—if the person performing them is walking in intentional disobedience.
-
Amos 5:21–23
"I hate, I despise your feast days, and I do not savor your sacred assemblies... Take away from Me the noise of your songs, for I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments."
-
The Confrontation: "You think the Creator is impressed by a polished worship service or church traditions? He says He flat-out despises religious festivals if they have replaced His actual instructions. He wants an obedient lifestyle, not an emotional performance."
-
-
Jeremiah 14:12
"When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence."
-
The Confrontation: "You can fast until you are blue in the face and write massive checks to religious organizations, but if you are breaking His covenant foundations, your offerings are entirely invalid in the heavenly courtroom."
-
-
Isaiah 1:15
"When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood."
-
The Confrontation: "You can lift your hands as high as you want in church, but if those same hands are cutting corners at work, gossiping about your brethren, or tearing down your family, the Judge has already declared that He is closing His eyes to your display."
-

How to Use These in a Cross-Examination
When utilizing these verses to prompt Teshuvah (repentance) in a carnal person, stack them to show the unfiltered pattern of Scripture from the Torah, the Prophets, and the New Testament:
-
"According to 1 John 3:22 and Isaiah 59:2, scriptural prayer operates on a strict legal circuit. Obedience opens the line; lawlessness shorts it out."
-
"Look closely at the text. Is it possible that the chronic anxiety, the spiritual emptiness, or the unanswered cries in your life right now are a direct result of the King executing Micah 3:4 against your lifestyle?"
-
"He doesn't want your excuses, your past resume, or your church traditions. He wants your ears turned back to His Law today."
The Verdict of Blocked Prayers
The Bible teaches that there are times when God refuses to hear a person's prayers because of persistent sin, rebellion, or hypocrisy.
Proverbs 28:9
"He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Unrepentant Sin
"If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me." (Psalm 66:18)
Refusing to Obey God
"He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination." (Proverbs 28:9)
Practicing Sin While Pretending to Worship
"When ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood." (Isaiah 1:15)
Rejecting God's Calls
"Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer." (Proverbs 1:28)
Harboring Bitterness or Unforgiveness
Yeshua taught that we must forgive others if we expect forgiveness from God (Mark 11:25–26).
The Hope
Blocked prayers are not necessarily a final verdict. Throughout Scripture, when people genuinely repent and turn back to God, He is merciful and willing to hear them.
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven..." (2 Chronicles 7:14)
The biblical pattern is clear: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. When a person repents, seeks Him sincerely, and walks in His ways, the barrier between them and God is removed.
